It’s ideal for anyone who wants a dessert that feels special without being complicated.

Mascarpone cheese → makes it creamy and rich and is what makes tiramisu so unique.

Raw cane sugar → adds sweetness and since we are using raw sugar ,it gives a slight caramel flavour, giving depth

Heavy cream → makes the filling light and fluffy, when mixed with mascarpone it gives of a creamy and rich taste and texture.

Ladyfingers → create the soft coffee layers and soaks up coffee.

Vanilla extract → adds smooth, warm flavour. This might seem not as important but it adds a slight bit of warmth which brings the tiramisu on the next level.

Cocoa powder → gives a slightly bitter topping to balance out the sweetness for the sweet filling

Espresso coffee → gives the strong coffee taste which is essential in tiramisu.

Ingredients :

  • 1 cup & 2tbsp Mascarpone cheese (cold)

  • 1/3 Raw Cane Sugar

  • 1 & 1/4 cup of Heavy Whipping Cream ( Cold )

  • 20-25 Lady Finger Biscuits ( also know as Italian Savoiardi)

  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract

  • Untweeted cocoa powder

  • Strong espresso coffee ( To make this you can get 1 tbsp of espresso coffee and mix it with 1 & 1/2 cups of hot water :)

Directions to make Tiramisu :)

Make strong espresso coffee with 1 tbsp strong espresso powder and 1 &1/2 cups hot water ( If you don't have an espresso machine) and set aside to cool down.

  1. In a medium sized bowl add 1 cup and 2 tbsp of mascarpone cheese ( cold)

  2. To the Mascarpone, add 4 tbsp of heavy whipping cream ( this makes the cheese creamy and easy to mix in with the other mixture)

  3. Using a hand mixer, beat the Mascarpone cheese and whipping cream until smooth and put aside

  4. In a large bowl, add 1 &1/4 cups of heavy whipping cream (cold)

  5. Add 1/3 cup of raw sugar and 2tsp vanilla essence

  6. Whip the ingredients in the bowl till soft peaks ( when the cream is thick enough to hold its own shape or when it is slightly starting to look like whipped cream)

  7. With a spatula combine the mascarpone cheese mixture with the heavy whipping cream mixture until combined

  8. Get the coffee mix from earlier and lightly soak the ladyfinger biscuits into the coffee ( 1 to 2 seconds in coffee)

  9. Place the biscuit in the pan or container and repeat until the pan has a base of soaked biscuits.

  10. Spread half of the mascarpone cream on the base of biscuits ( An offset spatula helps to keep an even layer)

  11. Layer more soaked coffee biscuits on the top of the cream until it covers the cream.

  12. Once the biscuits have been placed, add the rest of the cream evenly on top of the biscuits.

  13. Using a strainer, carefully dust unsweetened cocoa powder on top of the cream until it is fully covered.

  14. Let the tiramisu chill in the fridge for at least 2- 3 hours for a cold and refreshing tiramisu!
